The hotel they put us in was not as luxury as the La Concha (4 star vs 5 star) but it was nice and the Marriot folks at the San Juan Marriot were SUPER friendly and tried to do EVERYTHING they could to make us welcome and make it up to us with room upgrades, free drinks, dinner recommendations. It was all set up for us and we were whisked away So we didn't have to pay for the hotel night. However, they paid for a taxi and put us in the marriott down the street and comped the marriot room. The hotel knew what they did and I don't know why we were flagged as one of the "overbooked". We were quite disapointed as the property looked beautiful. When we arrived at the hotel from the airport, the hotel had overbooked.
